While
we are all aware of the serious limitations of current Western
clinical approaches to cancer treatment and that various Asian
spiritual and healing traditions have the potential to contribute
significantly to cancer care, this landmark upcoming conference
promises to comprehensively explore traditional Asian healing
modalities for cancer with a modern and integrated perspective
for the first time.
The Mission of first international meeting is to encourage
an all-important East West dialogue as well as an evidence-
based approach to integrating positive elements from Asian
healing traditions for cancer care, in hopes of significantly
enhancing current levels of care for our patients, and your
participation will be key to implementing this vision.
The three-day conference will bring together experts form
Asia and the West to present current research and discuss
the efficacy of Ayurveda, Chinese, Kampo and Tibetan herbs
as well as Asian dietary components and mind-body modalities
like Qigong, Yoga, Morita, and Macrobiotics for cancer. The
benefits of Asian spiritual practices on patient as well as
practitioner coping and overall cancer care will be highlighted
as well.
Leading international experts will lead plenaries on study
methods and presentations of ongoing research, as well as
focus discussion on evidence of efficacy and practices of
dietary, herbal, mind-body and other Asian therapeutic modalities
for cancer patients.
This promises to be exciting meeting for anyone interested
in cancer care, complementary approaches to cancer therapies,
and Eastern healing techniques as it applies to cancer.
